A fire erupted in Pisa province (Tuscany) on Monday night (local time), September 24. The fire initially broke out in Monte Serra before spreading to the municipalities of Calci, Montemagno, and San Lorenzo e la Torre overnight. As of Tuesday morning, 500 people had been evacuated. Further evacuations and road closures are possible as firefighters work to contain the fire.

Furthermore, the firefighting efforts have resulted in disruptions at Pisa International Airport (PSA). According to Eurocontrol, high delays are reported as of Tuesday afternoon; cancelations cannot be ruled out.
