The fire initially broke out in Monte Serra before spreading to the municipalities of Calci, Montemagno, and San Lorenzo e la Torre overnight. As of Tuesday morning, 500 people had been evacuated. Further evacuations and road closures are possible as firefighters work to contain the fire.
