According to the US-based National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Rosa was located approximately 780 km (485 mi) southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula as of 03:00 (local time) on Thursday, September 27. According to the latest forecasts, Rosa is expected to weaken into a tropical storm before making landfall on Tuesday, October 2, on the northwestern coast of the peninsula. No storm alerts are in effect for the moment.
Rosa could potentially bring heavy rain and flooding to the region early next week, along with strong winds and dangerous surf. Associated transportation disruptions are also possible.
