Heavy rains from the monsoon season left at least 88 people dead and hundreds of homes damaged in Pakistan from late June through mid-September. Punjab province has reported the most deaths of any province due to the monsoon (31 deaths). Further heavy rainfall may cause additional casualties, material damages, and disruptions as the monsoon season continues through the end of September.

Torrential rainfall is not unusual in the region during the monsoon season, which lasts from June through September.
