Taxi drivers continue to hold protests in Faro as of Thursday, September 20. Around 200 taxis have gathered on the 125/10 National Road leading to Faro International Airport (FAO). While a lane has now been opened to allow access to the airport, traffic disruptions remain likely, along with lower taxi availability.

Nationwide protests were held on September 19 to denounce a decision by the president to regulate ride-sharing app services such as Uber and Cabify. The largest gathering took place in the capital Lisbon, while other demonstrations were held in the cities of Porto, Braga, and Faro.
