US: Tropical depression to bring flooding, high winds through Sep. 22

Tropical Depression 28W is forecast to bring dangerous storm conditions to Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands through the evening (local time) of Saturday, September 22, according to the US National Weather Service (NWS). As of 13:00 on Friday, September 21, the storm was located 162 km (100 mi) northwest of Guam and moving northwest. Despite moving away from the islands, it is expected to bring 10-20 cm (4-8 in) of rain and sustained winds of 46 km/h (29 mph) with gusts up to 65 km/h (40 mph). Waves as high as 3 m (10 ft) are also possible. The NWS warns that the islands remain heavily saturated from Typhoon Mangkhut's rainfall, raising the likelihood of flash flooding and associated transportation disruptions.
