Zambia: Demonstration in Lusaka September 28

Civil society groups have called for a demonstration to take place in the capital Lusaka on Friday, September 28, to denounce the economic policies of the government and to protest an alleged mismanagement of public funds. According to local sources, demonstrators are expected to gather in front of the National Assembly. Heightened security measures and associated traffic disruptions are expected near all protest sites. Further associated protests are possible in the coming weeks.
