The Meteorological Service of Canada has issued winter storm warnings for the eastern and northern coasts of Newfoundland and Labrador province for Thursday, November 15, and Friday, November 16. As of Thursday morning (local time) transportation disruptions have been reported in Newfoundland and Labrador, including flight disruptions (delays and cancelations) at Saint John's International Airport (YYT), Gander International Airport (YQX), and Deer Lake Regional Airport (YDF). Disruptions to road traffic and ferry services have also been reported in the province. Power outages have reportedly affected thousands on the northern coast of Newfoundland. Continued transportation and other infrastructural disruptions should be anticipated in affected areas at least through Friday.
