A tropical wave, with a likelihood of developing into a tropical depression, is moving toward the Caribbean region as of Monday, November 12, and is forecast to bring heavy rain and strong winds to northern portions of the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola. As of 14:00 (local time) on Monday, the storm system is located about 200 mi east of the Leeward Islands and producing winds of 37-55 km/h (23-35 mph) and waves of 2.5-3 m (8-10 ft). It is forecast to move into more conducive waters for development into a tropical storm. Heavy rain and strong winds are likely in the northern Leeward Islands (Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis, Montserrat, Antigua & Barbuda, Guadeloupe), Puerto Rico, northern areas of Dominican Republic and Haiti, and southern Bahamas.
