Italy: Demonstration in Rome December 27

Employees of luxury rental car companies and livery drivers are planning a sit-in demonstration from 14:00 (local time) to 18:00 at Piazza della Repubblica in Rome on Thursday, December 27. Demonstrators are protesting new regulations limiting operations in the capital. Local reports state up to 5000 people are expected to participate and authorities have issued a 12-hour parking ban between Viale Einaudi and Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando beginning at 08:00. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the demonstration.
