Colombia: 5.6-magnitude earthquake strikes near Santa María Jan. 26

A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit 13 km (8 mi) west-northwest of Santa María (Huila department) at approximately 07:30 (local time) on Saturday, January 26, although there were no immediate reports or damages or injuries. Residents in the cities of Cali (Valle del Cauca department), Ibagué (Tolima department), and Neiva (Huila department) reported shaking, while officials in the capital Bogotá indicated the fire department has been deployed to check for structural damage. Aftershocks are possible in the area over the coming hours and days.
