At least four police officers were killed and 12 more wounded in a double improvised explosive device (IED) attack reported in Saladin governorate Sunday, January 27. According to reports, a roadside IED detonated near the town of Shirqat, killing at least two officers and wounding eight more. A second IED was reported in the same area shortly after the first blast, killing two more officers and wounding four others. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Further related attacks cannot be ruled out.
