Authorities have ordered the closure of all public schools across the country on Wednesday, January 16, due to the passage of the winter storm "Miriam " forecast to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and some snowfall to Lebanon through Thursday, January 17, with the fiercest weather expected on January 16. Wind gusts of up to 100 km/h (60 mph) are possible along the coast along with a high storm surge. Heavy rain is expected with snow at higher elevations. Associate transportation disruptions are likely across the country. Power disruptions cannot be ruled out. A heightened security presence have been deployed across the country to assist citizens.

"Miriam" follows shortly after winter storm "Norma" hit the country earlier this month.
