DRC: Nationwide policemen mobilizations Feb. 19-26

Event

Between Tuesday, February 19 and Monday, February 25, several policemen protested by firing shots into the air in several urban centers across the country, notably in Tshikapa, Beni, Uvira, and Mbuji-Mayi, to demand, among other things, the payment of salary arrears. Although calls for calm have been issued, further mobilizations are likely in the coming days.
