Airport officials suspended flight operations at Rome's Ciampino G. B. Pastine International Airport (CIA) on Thursday afternoon (local time), February 7, after construction crews discovered three unexploded ordinances dating from Second World War. Passengers have also been evacuated from the terminals and the airport will remain closed at least until 18:00. Residual flight disruptions are to be expected at CIA and other area airports at least throughout Thursday evening.
