Auckland Transport has announced disruptions along the Western Line on the afternoon (local time) of Wednesday, March 27, due to an emergency incident at Mount Albert. According to initial reports, a person was fatally struck by a train near the Woodward Road crossing, resulting in the closure of the Mount Albert station. Police have cordoned off the area and are asking for the public to avoid the area until further notice. As of 14:35, rail services will operate between Britomart and Morningside and New Lynn and Swanson every 20 minutes. Buses will replace trains between Morningside and New Lynn. Residual transportation disruptions are anticipated in the coming hours.
