State funerary services for former Prime Minister Etienne Tshisekedi to be held in Kinshasa from May 30 to June 1; transportation and commercial disruptions expected

State funerary services for former Prime Minister Etienne Tshisekedi will be held in Kinshasa from Thursday, May 30 to Saturday, June 1. On Thursday, a funeral procession will bring Tshisekedi's body from N'Djili International Airport (FIH) to Hôpital du Cinquantenaire via Limete. On Friday, Tshisekedi's body will lie in state at Stade des Martyrs for the public to pay their respects. On Saturday, the funerary services will end with a solemn Mass in the same stadium. His body will then be buried in the Nsele district of Kinshasa. Congolese authorities have declared Thursday, May 30, to be a public holiday.
