The national federation for disabled persons has called for nationwide protests to be held on Thursday, May 23, to denounce working conditions and lack of funding in the sector. Protests are set to take place in several cities between 10:30 and 12:30 (local time), notably in Beirut, Jounieh, Tripoli, Zahlé, and Nabatieh. A heightened security presence and traffic disruptions are to be expected near all demonstration sites.
