Bus and tractor trailer collision kills 23 people in Veracruz on May 29; transportation disruptions possible

At least 23 people were killed, and 30 others injured, when a bus collided with a tractor trailer on Wednesday, May 29, in Veracruz state. The accident occurred near Maltrata around 10:25 (local time) along the Puebla-Veracruz highway, overturning both vehicles and causing a deadly fire. Residual transportation disruptions, particularly for westbound traffic, are possible along with an increased security and emergency response personnel presence.
