Protest march expected in Mexico City May 29; localized transportation disruptions expected near protest sites over coming hours

The Alianza de Vagoneros civil society group is slated to hold a protest march in Mexico City on Wednesday, May 29. Demonstrators are expected to gather at the Ángel de la Independencia and march to the Plaza de la Constitución (Zócalo) via Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, and Avenida 5 de Mayo. The Secretariat of Public Security has advised motorists to avoid the area as the march will likely result in localized transportation disruptions. 

A heightened security presence and associated traffic disruptions are to be expected near protest sites.
