Warning

Event

Colombia's meteorological institute has issued a red alert in 65 municipalities on Friday, June 14, with heavy rains, floods, and landslides expected until at least Monday, June 17. Another 133 municipalities are on orange alert. Authorities urge individuals to be cautious in the Andean region and in the vicinity of mountains that are particularly steep or known to produce landslides. Transportation disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are likely until at least Monday, June 17.

Advice

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, anticipate power, telecommunication, and transportation disruptions, including adverse driving conditions and road closures, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Remember that running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) is enough to knock over an adult.
