Colombia: Afro-Colombian organizations staging protest march in Bogota Oct. 9

Members of multiple organizations of the Afro-Colombian community, including the Afro-Colombian National Peace Council (Consejo Nacional de Paz Afrocolombiano, CONPA), are staging a protest march from Universidad Nacional to Plaza de Bolivar in Bogota in downtown Bogota on the morning of Oct. 9. The demonstration is to demand increased support for black communities for access to land and improved security, as well as to show their support for President Gustavo Petro's administration.
