The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.5-magnitude earthquake roughly 70 km (43 mi) south of Farallon de Pajaros on Saturday, June 29, at approximately 01:51 (local time). The earthquake struck at a depth of 460 km (286 mi). No tsunami warning was issued by the US Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC). Aftershocks are possible in the coming hours and days.

Individuals in the affected area are advised to monitor the situation, prepare for aftershocks, and anticipate localized infrastructure damage and transportation disruptions.
