US: Extreme heat forecast for Phoenix, Las Vegas June 11-13
Extreme heat forecast for southern Arizona, southern Nevada, and southeastern California states, including Phoenix and Las Vegas on June 11-13; avoid outdoor activities and remain hydrated

The US National Weather Service (NWS) issued excessive heat watches for areas of Arizona, Nevada, and California states effective from Tuesday, June 11, to Thursday, June 13. This includes Phoenix (Arizona state) and the surrounding areas, Yuma (Arizona state), Joshua Tree National Park (California state), Death Valley National Park (California state), and Las Vegas (Nevada state). Temperatures are forecast to reach highs of 46°C (115°F) during the day. NWS is advising residents to remain in air-conditioned buildings, drink plenty of water and avoid drinks with alcohol, sugar, and caffeine, and avoid strenuous activities, particularly in midday.

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, avoid strenuous activities or spending time outdoors, particularly during midday, wear loose-fitting clothing, drink plenty of water and avoid dehydrating liquids, such as drinks with alcohol, high sugar, or caffeine, and seek immediate medical attention if exhibiting symptoms of heat stroke, such as nausea, confusion, headache, rapid and strong pulse, and dry skin.
