Feminist groups schedule protest abuse on women in Lima August 17; transportation disruptions expected

Feminist groups are to protest in Lima on Saturday, August 17, to call attention to the number of reported sexual abuse and femicide reported in the country recently. They also look to call upon the judiciary to protect women. Protesters will gather at Palacio de Justicia at 14:00 (local time) and will proceed to Campo de Marte using avenues Nicolas de Pierola, Wilson, Guzman Blanco, and de la Peruanidad.

This is the fourth such protest since 2016.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are likely along the march route.
