Burkina Faso: Protests over Franc currency zone and French influence in Ouagadougou September 14

Civil society group Urgence Panafricaniste has called for a protest to be held in Ouagadougou on Saturday, September 14, to denounce the use of the CFA franc currency and denounce what they perceive as the persisting French influence over its former colonies. Protesters are expected to gather at 15:00 (local time) at the Médiathèque Municipale. 

A heightened security presence along with localised transportation disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the protests.
