According to media reports, around 100 unidentified gunmen attacked a police outpost in Djibo (Soum province) on Monday, September 9, killing at least six police officers. Another attack targeting soldiers wounded four in Yatenga province on the same day.
Similar attacks in northern Burkina Faso are possible over the coming weeks.
