DRC: Protest reported in Bukavu September 29

Disgruntled parents protested in front of the Cathedral Notre-Dame de la Paix and other churches in Bukavu on Sunday, September 29, to denounce a strike held by catholic teachers since Wednesday, September 25. Protesters reportedly burnt tires on roads before being dispersed with tear gas.

Further related protests are likely in the coming days if the strike persists. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
