Germany: Berlin Marathon scheduled for September 28-29
Berlin Marathon and related events are scheduled to take place on September 28-29; transportation and business disruptions expected

Berlin will host the annual BMW Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 29, with marathon-related events beginning on Saturday, September 28, resulting in road closures and transportation disruptions. More than 60,000 participants and around one million spectators are expected to attend the race. A breakfast run, mini marathon, and inline skating marathon will be held along the marathon route on Saturday from 09:30 until approximately 19:00 (local time). The Berlin Marathon will take place on Sunday, beginning in Tiergarten at 08:50 and proceeding along the city's main roads before ending back in Tiergarten at approximately 16:15. The Straße des 17. Juni between Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße and Brandenburg Gate has been closed since Monday, September 23, in preparation for the race. Additional road closures and transportation delays are expected near the route beginning the morning of Thursday, September 26 and lasting through the morning of Monday, September 30.
