Informational

Activists plan to march from Ernst-Ludwig-Platz Mainz from 16:00 Nov. 22. The purpose of the demonstration is to demand that authorities ban the Alternative fur Deutschland (AfD) party. Participants will march through the city center before returning to Ernst-Ludwig-Platz. Approximately 500 participants are expected to attend.

Police will likely deploy along the march route to facilitate the procession. Authorities will likely close roads along the march route, leading to localized transport disruptions. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers, frustrated motorists, or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in central Mainz. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
