Lebanon: Environmental protest planned in Beirut September 3

Several NGOs have called for a protest outside the Ministry of Environment in Beirut on Tuesday, September 3, to denounce recent propositions by the government, including the construction of landfills to tackle the garbage crisis affecting the country. Protesters are expected to gather at 17:30 (local time).

A heightened security presence along with localized traffic disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the protest.
