US: Protests expected during Trump fundraising trip throughout California September 17-18

Protests are likely to greet Trump in California during a fundraising trip September 17-18; heightened security expected

President Trump is scheduled to attend various fundraising events throughout California, which are expected to be welcomed by protesters in Los Angeles, San Diego, and  Los Altos on Tuesday, September 17, and on Wednesday, September 18. While Trump's itinerary is largely being kept secret, protesters have organized and have threatened to organize protests in the aforementioned cities.

In Los Angeles, protesters will gather on Tuesday at 09:30 (local time) at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration to oppose Trump's visit, and other grievances. Another group will gather at Sunset Boulevard & Benedict Canyon Drive in Beverley Hills at 16:00.      

In Los Altos, protesters will gather on Tuesday between 10:15 and 16:00 near the intersection of San Antonio Road and Foothill Expressway.

In San Diego, protesters will gather on Wednesday at 09:00 at Horton Plaza Park.

Associated transportation disruptions and a heightened security presence is to be expected at all protests, as well as at and near any venue President Trump visits.

Individuals in the aforementioned cities are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate increased travel times due to high traffic and increased security measures, and adhere to any instructions issued by the local authorities.
