Students protest in Monrovia in support of ongoing teachers’ strike October 15

Students are demonstrating in Monrovia as of the early afternoon (local time) on Tuesday, October 15, in support of an ongoing teachers' strike over pay issues. Students have reportedly blocked the Tubman Boulevard, located near the Executive Mansion, to demand that the government address teachers' demands in order for classes to resume. According to media reports, police forces have tried to disperse protesters with tear gas. Students are also threatening to disrupt operations at private schools if their teachers are not paid.
