New Zealand: New visa requirements come into effect October 1

New Zealand has implemented new entry requirements for visitors and transit passengers as of Tuesday, October 1. Under the new measures, individuals from visa waiver countries and territories who are visiting for up to three months must request a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) before traveling. Transit passengers (individuals passing through New Zealand to another country) who are a citizen or hold a passport from a country on the transit visa waiver list or hold a current Australian permanent resident visa must also request a NZeTA. Passengers not from a transit visa waiver country must also request a transit visa. Individuals traveling as a transit passenger are also only allowed to fly via Auckland International Airport (AKL) and must remain in the transit area of the airport.
