Saudi Arabia: Deadly bus accident in Medina province October 16

A charter bus carrying foreign pilgrims between the cities of Medina and Mecca hit an excavator on the night (local time) of Wednesday, October 16. The accident occurred along the main highway between the two cities near the village of Al-Akhal (Medina province) around 19:00. Police officials confirmed that 35 passengers, mostly Asian and Arab nationals, were killed in the incident. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
