Unionized subway workers in Seoul call off strike on October 16 after reaching an agreement with management; train service expected to run as normal

Seoul Metro service is expected to run as normal on Wednesday, October 16, after unionized workers reached a deal with management. Workers called off a planned 72-hour strike after management agreed to raise wages, hire more safety and maintenance workers, and increase the number of female employees. Both sides will also hold future talks on employing additional workers to improve driver safety.
Context
Workers of the state-owned Korea Railroad Corp. (KORAIL) held a similar 72-hour nationwide strike between October 11-October 13.
