Montenegro: Weather warnings issued across Montenegro November 4

Meteoalarm issues weather warnings across Montenegro on November 4; heavy rain, strong wind, thunderstorms, and transportation disruptions expected

Warning

Event

The European weather service, Meteoalarm, has issued weather warnings and alerts across Montenegro for Monday, November 4. Meteoalarm has a red warning (the highest on a four-tier scale) for heavy rain across the center of the country, including Podgorica, and yellow warnings (second-highest on the four-tier scale) for heavy rain across the rest of the country. It also forecasts wind gusts of up to 61 kph (38 mph) and possible thunderstorms and hail.

Flash flooding and associated transportation, power, and commercial disruptions are possible in the affected areas in the coming hours.

Advice

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, adhere to instructions issued by local authorities, confirm road conditions before heading out, anticipate adverse weather and power, transportation, commercial, and communications disruptions, and remember that running water can be dangerous - 15 cm (6 in) is enough to knock over an adult - and never drive through flooded streets; floodwater may also contain wastewater and chemical products.
