Canada: Earthquakes strike west of Port Hardy (British Columbia) December 23

According to the US Geological Survey, a series of three earthquakes measuring between 5.2 and 6.0 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Port Hardy (British Columbia) on Monday, December 23. The quakes occurred between 08:44 and 11:49 (local time) at a depth of 10 km (6 mi). No tsunami warning has been issued and no damages or casualties are expected.

Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
