Canada: Refueling staff may strike in Montreal as of January 1

Refueling staff may hold strike in Montreal's Trudeau International (YUL) and Montréal–Mirabel (YMX) airports as of January 1; confirm travel itineraries

Warning

Event

Refueling staff at Montreal's Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Montréal-Mirabel International Airport (YMX) may hold a strike on Wednesday, January 1, following failed contractual negotiations. Staff originally planned to strike on December 25, though entered negotiations with management. Since, unions have rejected the proposed offer on Friday, December 27, and have threatened to go on strike on Wednesday.

Should the strike go ahead, flight disruptions, including delays and cancelations, remain possible as of Wednesday and the days that follow until a solution is negotiated at YUL and YMX.

Advice

Individuals traveling via YUL and YMX are advised to monitor the situation, confirm their flight status, contact their airline for more information, and anticipate flight disruptions.
