Ethiopia: Ongoing protests in Bahir Dar January 28

According to online sources, protests are ongoing in Bahir Dar (Amhara region) and other cities across the region as of Tuesday, January 28, to denounce the abduction of students, mostly girls, from the Dem Dolo University (Oromia region) in early December and demand concrete action from the government. Protests are also reportedly being held in Woldia, Achefer/Dure Betea, Debre Birhan, Shewarobit, Finote Selam, Dangila, Debre Markose, and Raya Kobo.

Further protests are possible in the coming days.
