Oman: Oman Air announces additional flight cancelations January 8
Air Oman to cancel additional flights through January 31, and suspends flights via Athens from February 2 due to the suspension of Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes; confirm flight status

On Wednesday, January 8, Oman Air announced the cancelation of additional flights through January 31, following a directive by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) to suspend Boeing 737 MAX fleet operations. Several cities will be impacted by the directive including Mumbai, Kozhikode, Hyderabad, Katmandu, Colombo, Dubai, Medina, Salalah, Jaipur, Nairobi, Amman, Athens, Lucknow, Karachi, Hyderabad, Casablanca, Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Bahrain, Zurich, Delhi, Bangkok and Dammam. In addition, Airlines management stated that flights to Athens will also be canceled as of February 2, due to the effects of the 737 MAX fleet's grounding. Boeing and various international aviation authorities recommended the temporary suspension of all Model 737 MAX aircraft worldwide on Wednesday, March 13, after the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on Sunday, March 10, which killed all 157 people onboard a Boeing Model 737 MAX 8. All Boeing Model 737 MAX aircraft have been grounded worldwide.
