A shooting in several communities in Nova Scotia province on Saturday night, April 18, has resulted in at least 13 fatalities, including a police officer. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the shooter went on a 12-hour rampage across the northern part of Nova Scotia, starting from Portapique town. The shooter led the police on a chase on Sunday morning, April 19, which ended at a gas station in Enfield, approximately 35 km (22 mi) north of Halifax at around 11:40 (local time). The RCMP confirmed that the gunman is dead. An investigation into the incident is ongoing and police have warned that there could be more victims who have not been discovered.
