Ecuador: Building collapse leaves two dead in Quito May 29

At least two people were killed and several others were injured when a three-story building collapsed in the San Roque sector of Quito on Friday, May 29. Several people remain trapped under rubble and rescue operations are ongoing as of Friday afternoon (local time).

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions, such as road closures, are expected in the vicinity of the incident.
