Russia: Security forces kill militants during counterterrorism operation in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk Oblast) April 30

On Thursday, April 30, security forces killed at least three militants during a counterterrorism operation in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk Oblast). The security forces cordoned off the districts of Aramilsky and Chkalovsky during the raid and engaged the militants in an exchange of fire. Government forces recovered weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the raided residence.

Further security operations are possible in the area over the near term.
