Unknown assailants target police station in Di (Boucle du Mouhoun region) on June 14 killing at least one police officer; further militant attacks targeting security forces possible over the near term

A border police station was targeted in an attack by unknown assailants in the town of Di, located in Sourou province (Boucle du Mouhoun region), on Sunday, June 14. At least one police officer was killed in the attack and several vehicles were set ablaze. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Context
