Several demonstrations take place throughout Valparaíso on July 15; avoid all protests

Various demonstrations have been reported in several towns of the Valparaíso region on Wednesday, July 15.
Demonstrations were organised on social media and most residents have protested using pans from their balconies and windows. However, some protesters reportedly gathered and barricaded streets in Vina del Mar and Gómez Carreño.
Clashes between protesters and security forces have also been reported in the towns of San Felipe, San Antonio, and Camino La Pólvora.
As of Wednesday night (local time) there have been no confirmed reports of injuries or arrests.
Further protests and associated disruptions are likely in the near term. A heightened security presence is also to be expected.

Those in Valparaíso are advised to avoid all public demonstrations, adhere to any instructions issued by local authorities, and anticipate localized disruption near any protest sites.
