Guinea: Nationwide anti-government protests planned for July 20

The National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC) opposition party has called for nationwide anti-government protests on Monday, July 20, to call for the resignation of President Alpha Condé. Although the exact times and locations for the demonstrations have not yet been announced, the main protests are expected to take place in the capital Conakry. Additional protests remain possible in other urban centers across the country.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are anticipated near any demonstration site.
