Guinea: Protest march planned in Conakry for July 3

Funeral procession planned in Conakry on July 3; heightened security measures and transportation disruptions expected

A funeral march is planned in Conakry on Friday, July 3, for victims of anti-government demonstrations. The procession will start at 10:00 (local time) at the Sino-Guinean Hospital before proceeding towards the Bambeto cemetery for a burial ceremony at 12:00. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of any demonstrations. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.

Further anti-government demonstrations are likely in the capital in the coming days and weeks.
