Liberia: Protest scheduled in Monrovia on August 26 and 27
Protest against gender-based violence scheduled to be held in Monrovia on August 26 and 27; avoid all demonstrations

A demonstration is scheduled to take place in Monrovia from Wednesday, August 26 through Thursday, August 27, to protest against gender-based violence in the country. Participants are set to gather from approximately 08:00 (local time) near the Vamima junction. Previous related demonstrations began on August 25 at the University of Liberia in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, the Vamima House in Sikor, and in the West Point township. The demonstrations are being held to demand justice for rape victims. The demonstrations are expected to be well attended.
A heightened security presence, as well as associated disruptions to transportation, are to be expected around the demonstration site.
