A blast injured five people in Balochistan's Mastung district on Thursday, August 13. Reportedly, unidentified assailants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) outside a school in Mastung.
Also on Thursday in Balochistan, assailants targeted a patrolling Frontier Crops vehicle with an IED along a road in the Killi Mengal area of Nushki; however, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Further attacks are possible in the province over the near term.

Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Al-Qai'da (AQ), Islamic State (IS) affiliates, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, Afghan Taliban, and other Islamist militant groups continue to pose a threat throughout the country despite continued army offensives to push them from their strongholds near the Afghan border. Pakistan has suffered numerous deadly attacks in recent months, notably in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
